Module 1: How to Study the Bible
Duración estimada: 12 minutos
Welcome to The Church of the Risen Lord Bible study. Before we open our Bibles, let us pray: "Heavenly Father, open our eyes that we may behold wondrous things out of Thy law. In Jesus' name, Amen." (Psalm 119:18)
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) — "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
The word "inspiration" in Greek is theopneustos, which literally means "God-breathed." The Bible is not just a book of men — it is the living, written Word of God Himself. Over 40 human authors wrote across 1,500 years on three continents, yet the message is perfectly unified: God loves you, man sinned, Christ saves.
Read Psalm 19:7-11 slowly. David describes God's Word as "perfect," "sure," "right," "pure," "clean," and "true." Which of these descriptions speaks to your heart today? Write it down.
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." — Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
In our next lesson we will learn how the Bible is organized so you can find any passage with confidence. God bless you!
